Books to Look out for July!

To All the book lovers out there, a new month is here and we have more new books to read. There is no such thing as “too many books”. Here are the top 5 books we are looking forward to. You can get a copy of these books in our retail store Sapna book house. Sapna book house has a wide collection of over 5, 50,000 books. You can check it out.

Love Murder by Saul Black — Crime Thriller

It is spine-chilling serial-killer thriller featuring homicide detective Valerie Hart from the author of the critically-acclaimed THE KILLING LESSONS.  It moves at a cracking pace and as the crimes unfold they seem to hit very close to home for Valerie Hart our heroine.  As Valerie races against time to catch the masked killer the author ratchets up the tension. There are a number of twists as the novel races to an exciting conclusion. Love Murder is everything you want from a crime thriller.

Don't Close Your Eyes by Holly Seddon — Psychological Suspense
A gripping novel of psychological suspense centered on two sisters whose lives have taken them apart, and the shocking family secrets that bind them together. This is a complex story about families and the relationships within. Love, hate, jealousy, abuse-it's all here. Adults making decisions that forever change the lives. The novel is told across two timelines when Robin and Sarah are both younger and living with their parents in the late eighties and early nineties and in the present day. "Don't Close Your Eyes" is a highly addictive compulsive “I don’t want to put this down “book that has so many Twists that you genuinely will not see coming.

The Body in the Clouds by Ashley Hay — Contemporary Fiction
The Body in the Clouds tells the story of one extraordinary moment - a man falling from the sky, and surviving - and of three men who see it, in different ways and different times, as they stand on the same piece of land. It is full of rich imagery which captures the mood of the place and the time.  This skillfully written tale weaves back and forth between characters, revealing a hint of the connection of humanity through the ages.

The Last Magician by Lisa Maxwell
The Last Magician – one of my most anticipated releases for 2017. Magic, time travel, and historical fiction all rolled into one book. In one word it’s epic. The story jumps around a bit in the beginning to different time periods to set the stage. We start off in New York at the turn of the twentieth century. From the amazing characters to the action, the magic, the world building, the descriptions, and just about everything else in The Last Magician is tremendously well portrayed. This twisty tale of alchemy and magic in Gilded Age New York will keep you guessing until the very last page.

The Lying Game by Ruth Ware
Four teenage girls forge a powerful friendship at boarding school. They spend virtually every spare moment together. The girls play a game in which the goal is lying successfully. When their idyllic life is suddenly shattered by tragedy, they must go their separate ways. Seventeen years later, the girls are together again and it feels like they've never been apart. Soon, though, the past lies come back to haunt the present. The story keeps you spellbound as it unfolds- there's never a dull moment. The entire novel is so fast paced you don't feel cheated at all.

Why is Reading the Most Popular in Bangalore?

“To acquire the habit of reading is to construct for yourself a refuge from almost all the miseries of life.” — W. Somerset Maugham

Reading is an acquired habit. We start young and almost immediately we assume books to be the learning object. As we grow, we find out it is much more than that. Reading is not necessarily an academically related activity. It serves many different purposes and sometimes a fun one too. Gone are the days where book worms and book nerds were considered the introverts of the society. They are also the most regular people and Bangalore has embraced them in a more welcoming way compared to others.
We all know Bangalore for its lively night life, with the young and vibrant spending their evenings in a club, dancing to loud music. But now parties have a new trend, ever heard of Bring Your Own Book (BYOB) Party? Yes, a meetup club in Bangalore invites people for interesting conversations about any book that everyone would love and see what others are reading.
Also, a recent trend of emerging book cafes suggests that Bangalorian’s prefer a coffee break with a book by their side to take their mind off stress. Nevertheless, a book is a perfect companion and a pleasure to escaping reality and getting immersed in a different world
Although digitally enormous variety of content is available at any time of day, and the material is available in a number of formats and through a range of digitally connected devices an Internet and Technology Research Centre, surveys have proved that when people reach for a book, it is much more likely to be a traditional print book than a digital product. This trend has remained unchanged from the year 2012.
Read a book because it’s basically one of the most enjoyable things you could ever do. And has absolutely no limits to the places one can travel. Sapna Book House has a wide collection of over 5, 50,000 books. You can get lost in the mini book world in here. Pick a book and make it your favorite today at Sapna book house.

The Art of reading- an excellent habit for kids and adults

There is a famous quote which says "Reading is to the mind is what exercise is to the body". The human mind is made of muscle and one need to constantly exercise that muscle for it to stay healthy and fresh. One is never too old to begin reading as it keeps the mind ticking as well as it sharpens the intellect. The digital era has the world wide web and the television to amuse one's mind, however for that deeper, insightful experience books are a great source.

Importance of reading
Reading requires a lot of mental agility and focus. Unlike watching television or listening to music, reading makes you think, ponder and you are completely involved in it. In this process, you begin to question, to reason and you make use of your grey cells. These grey cells sharpen your mind and make you smarter and wiser. Reading stimulates the mind muscles. When you remember dates, numbers, plots, facts it is an indication of your memory at work.

Reading strategies
One can practice these few tips to fine tune the art of reading
·         Read a text as if it's your own experience and as if you have lived it in your life
·         Question the main idea of the text and find solutions as you understand the importance of reading
·         Reflect on the text and see if it matches traits of your personality and character

Different genres, different experiences
Science says that reading different genres of books can improve the right side or the creative side of the brain. A genre may fall into the fiction and nonfiction category. Classics fall in the traditional category of literary fiction whereas drama is used to build conflict and emotion. Fantasy invokes otherworldly charm whereas horror invokes a feeling of trepidation and anxiety. A biography can inspire you whereas a self help book can help you rediscover yourself.

The genre that  you pick, is bound to create new experiences for you. There can be possibilities of books transforming you into wiser and better human beings.

All genres under one roof
Sapna Book House, is a book lovers den. With over 13000+ books in different languages and across various genres. 13+ retail stores with 50 years of existence, Sapna Book House is an ideal stop for you and your kids.

Words that Matter - A book is truly a man's best friend

A book as a concept, still garners a lot of attention in this digital age. Human beings understand the importance of the written word and are still connected to books in today's times. No single human being can remember information unless and until it is stored in someplace. A book is the best option and it is a storehouse of nourishment for the human mind. Books are inspirational, they build one's knowledge, they lend a helping hand in need and they can make you laugh when the going gets tough.

Words that connect
When you read a book, you may feel completely connected to the character or to the story. You live and breathe the words and the book becomes an inherent part of you. You feel the words talk to you and the energy they provide is infectious.

Words that are inspirational

Books are inspirational and will give you all the enthusiasm that's missing in your daily schedule. It will empower your blocked mind and add that extra dose of nourishment to your soul. Self help and inspirational books are quite a popular genre and easily accessible in most stores.

A healthy mind
An author once said "Books are the constant of friends, they are wise, accessible and most patient". They are always present to refresh you. If you pick non fictional books they are bound to widen your knowledge. If you like reading fiction they will enrich you with experiences like no other and may perhaps turn you into a better human being. The Power and Influence of Reading a variety of books

" If you read books that all are reading, then you begin to think what everyone is thinking" is a very powerful quote which reflects on the importance of reading on a variety of subjects. Books are important and are published for a variety of reasons other than just pure entertainment. They have a significant role in contributing towards society as they inspire, encourage discipline and build character. Reading a good book is a great habit and tends to have a positive impact on the mind of an individual. A person enjoys greater confidence and self esteem if he is a voracious reader on a wide range of subjects.

Building one's personality
The more books you read, the more you expand your knowledge and people get automatically attracted to your ideas. It enables you to exchange thoughts and ideas and builds confidence and character. A great conversation can be had if you have something out of the box to offer and if you can make the conversation engaging and stimulating. Books can be an inspiration and can transform you into a better listener and a keen observer of things.

Make it a habit
We are all too busy in our daily chores and we tend to get stressed out quite often. Reading something that you are fond of can be a great stress buster and you can eventually turn it into a good habit. You will feel happier, positive and it can decrease your stress and fatigue levels.

Positive mental diet
The body requires nutrients through food to keep it healthy. The mind needs mental carbs to provide it all the energy and vigor it needs. This can be done if one inculcates a habit of reading. If one is unable to read a fat book, one can read articles, newspapers and magazines that are informative and educational. Through this, you can constantly feed your mind with the nutrition it needs thus keeping it supple, flexible and healthy. This mental diet can improve the quality of your life as well as enhance your knowledge.

Make reading a habit that you enjoy and not something that turns you into a static bookworm. Enjoy the process and you are bound to reap rich benefits of this practice.
