A guide is someone who leads a child to new paths while being the companion. He or she is a person who lets them discover their surroundings while they make them feel safe from any harm. They ensure that the child is getting appropriate learning experiences and provide guidance at every step.
Various stages in a child’s life, when he experiences things he
has never experienced before, learning aspects of self and others that they are
not aware of, requires a person whom they trust. Children need to believe that
this person will keep them safe and provide them with any help necessary. It is
at this tender age children require
the sense of security which will enhance their way of dealing with their lives
in the future.
A guide can impact the way a child’s attitude is formed.
Attitude is learnt and observing and learning it from the right people is
always beneficial. A guide can help a child maintain a positive attitude
towards life and learn all that he or she can from their life experiences. A
guide can also help the child develop
qualities that will always help them be motivated in life and achieve as
much success as they can.
Children should be encouraged to express feelings and ideas in a safe environment so that the guide
can always monitor the child’s thoughts for any signs of negativity or anxiety.
A guide will always have an important role in the child’s
life, making him/her more comfortable to share their thoughts with the guide,
learn more from them and voice their concerns.
Children look up to the important people in their lives, their
parents, teachers, and guides. This helps them shape how they act in public
places, making decisions which are difficult to make, or have and maintain
relationships. Hence it is significant that these important people who are
their role models should always hold
that positive place in the child’s life.
